Terms of service

The short version: be reasonable, and we will be too.

What LifeBeacon does

LifeBeacon is a secure digital vault for storing life's important details – bank accounts, property, insurance, contacts, and guidance notes – so the people you trust can access them when it matters.

It helps you answer questions like:

  • If something happened to me, would my family know where to start?
  • Are all our important documents in one place?
  • Do the right people have the right access?
  • Is there a plan for digital accounts and subscriptions?

This is not legal advice

LifeBeacon is an organisational tool, not a substitute for a will, trust, or legal counsel. We help you gather and store information. For estate planning, probate, or any legal matters, please consult a qualified professional.

Your data belongs to you

Everything you enter stays yours. We don't sell it, mine it, or share it with anyone. Your vault data is encrypted and only accessible by you (and anyone you explicitly grant access to through our sharing features).

The free tier

You can store unlimited vault items, attach files (up to 50 MB), and use all core features without paying. Sharing with trustees and proof-of-life features require a Premium subscription.

Paid subscriptions

Premium adds trustee sharing, proof-of-life check-ins, more storage, and priority support. You can cancel anytime. If you cancel, you keep access until your billing period ends, then revert to the free tier.

Play fair

Don't try to break the service, reverse-engineer the encryption, or use LifeBeacon for anything illegal. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these basics.

Liability

We do our best to keep the service running and your data safe, but we can't guarantee perfection or 100% uptime. LifeBeacon is provided “as is”. We are not liable for decisions made based on information stored in your vault.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If anything significant changes, we'll notify you by email.
